Michal Materla vs. Scott Askham Preview: KSW 49

No matter what we will have a new KSW middleweight champion on Saturday night at KSW 49. The title has laid vacant ever since Mamed Khalidov vacated it earlier last year. As a result a four man tournament was arranged to crown the new champion.

At KSW 45 last October Scott Askham (17-4) and Michal Materla (27-6) booked their spots in the final, finishing their respective opponents, and thus setting up a huge rematch between the two.
The pair first fought at KSW 42 with Askham scoring a shock first round KO win over Materla. This stunned KSW fans and introduced a new reinvigorated Scott Askham to the world. The UK fighter is now 3-0 since his time in the UFC, three incredible performances, and now he wants to become the next middleweight champion.
Michal Materla held the title for almost four years and had defended it against the likes of Tomasz Drwal, Kendall Grove, Jay Silva, and Rodney Wallace before losing it to Mamed Khaldov at KSW 33. Since then Materla has had one goal and one goal only - to regain the middleweight title.
Literally anything can happen in this fight. But we will see a new king at middleweight.
You can watch this fight and all of KSW 49 live from anywhere in the world this Saturday on www.KSWTV.com!
The event will stream live around the world on www.KSWTV.com.
