KSW 49 Live Results
Vacant Middleweight Title
Scott Askham (17-4) def. Michal Materla (27-6) vs. TKO (knees & punches), round 3, 1:23.
Great back and forward contest. Askham landed the bodykicks early on but Materla ate them and came back with him own offence and put Askham on his back. However in the third round Askham started connecting with his strikes and caught Materla with knees and punches sending him to the floor.
Champion Roberto Soldic (16-3) def. Krystian Kaszubowski (7-1) via KO, round 1, 1:25.
Soldic finished this fight like he has so many, with a one punch KO catching Kaszubowski right on the button.
Damian Grabowski (22-5) def. Karol Bedorf (15-5) via TKO (punches), round 2, 3:56.
Grabowski with an incredible win tonight in a fantastic heavyweight contest. He weathered storms from Bedorf and ultimately found himself on top towards the end of the second round and reigned down strikes until the referee called an end to the action.
Norman Parke (27-6-1) def. Artur Sowinski (19-11) via unanimous decision (30-27 x 3)
Parke utilized his gameplan to perfection and dominated his way to a unanimous decision. Sowinski, a tricky veteran, threw some nice offence but ultimately Parke was just too much.
Erko Jun (3-0) def. Akop Szostak (3-3) via KO, round 1, 0:36.
We knew this fight could’ve been quick but maybe not this quick. Erko landed the same right hand that knocked out Strachu in this very same arena a year ago. And that was all she wrote. Erko wins the battle of the instagram stars and improves to 3-0 as a fighter.
Martin Zawada (29-15-1) def. Thiago Silva (21-10) via unanimous decision (29-27 x 2, 29-28)
Incredible fight. Both men were throwing bombs throughout this contest. Silva scored earlier with some hard hitting leg kicks but then Zawada turned everything around and landed one of his hard rights and dropped Silva not only once but twice. Silva survived though and, although he didn’t look the same after, he still managed to finish the fight and look dangerous himself right to the end.
Antun Racic (23-8-1) def. Pawel Politylo (4-2) via split decision (29-28x2, 28-29)
Very competitive contest between these two bantamweights once again. Racic won the first fight via decision and he just did enough to win this one too. Politylo found success early on with his wrestling but then got caught by a barage of punches by Racic which turned the tides in this fight.
Luis Henrique (12-5) def. Michal Andryszak (20-8) via technical submission, round 2, 4:52.
Henrique wobbled Andryszak on the feet early on and the big Pole never got going in this fight. There was some contesting the referee’s stoppage but Henrique was winning the fight until this moment.
Leszek Krakowski (14-1) via. Michael Dubois (10-7) via majority decision (29-28x2, 28-28)
Krakowski showed improved striking against a dangerous Dubois, landing early in the contest, but it was his grappling once agains which won him the contest as he seem a little too much on the ground and in the clinch. Dubois had his moments later in the fight attempting a kimura and landing a big combo in the last round. Too little too late however. Krakowski edges on the judges scorecards.
